Visioning Process Update
Ken Kay Associates have finished the initial phase of the visioning process to create a beautiful central park and garden for San Jose. We will be presenting the initial concept at the Alameda Business Association Open House on Thursday, Oct 8th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This is will be the first of many public presentations. The plan will evolve based on the feedback received - we would love to have your input. The Open House is being hosted by Green Design, 1341 The Alameda, San José, 95126. Please come see their beautiful plants and learn about our exciting plans for Guadalupe River Park and Gardens.

Trail Use Continues to Grow
Guadalupe River Park Conservancy participated in the 3rd annual City of San Jose trail count on September 23rd. Thanks to volunteers Celia Chung, Dave Ersine, Robert Halem, Mike Hammes, Mary Ellen Hawkins, Greg Hernandez, and Marilyn Wysocki, we staffed the Guadalupe River Park Trail at Coleman Ave site during the 12-hour count. Our segment registered a robust 26% increase in trail users over last year; a complete report will be available soon at www.sjparks.org/trails

Disney on Ice Tickets!

Thanks to our friends at NBC 11 we have Disney on Ice tickets again! There are two ways you can take advantage of this great deal:

--Come to Pumpkins in the Park and put your name in the hat for a free drawing. Ticket vouchers will be given out throughout the day. Stop by the information booth.

--Purchase a minimum $35 new membership with Guadalupe River Park Conservancy and we’ll give you two (2) ticket vouchers for free (while supplies last). If you’re already a member, you can upgrade your membership or purchase a gift membership for friends or family.

You will be required to take your vouchers to the HP Pavilion ticket office to exchange them for the actual tickets. The sooner you take your vouchers to the box office, the better seats you'll get. These vouchers are only good for the following shows:

Wednesday, October 21, 7:30 PM
Thursday, October 22, 7:30 PM
Friday, October 23, 10:30 AM

Podcasts
We have developed several pod casts that serve as a sort of self guided tour through a partnership with San Jose State's Journalism and Mass Communications Department. These mp3 files can be listened to here on our web site, or downloaded onto to your portable listening device. Each of them references a point on this map. Click here to check them out!

We hope to add more of these soon!

Thanks to Dan Fortune and his students who produced this project!
