Window on the River Park
Window on the River Park, our annual donor recognition event, was held on Thursday, June 8th and generously hosted and underwritten by Adobe Systems, Inc.
We were joined by Mayor Sam Liccardo, County Supervisors Dave Cortese and Ken Yeager, and Councilmember Johnny Khamis. Board Member Kelly Hattley thanked our sponsors, and President Jeff Lawson announced a partnership with SPUR.
Executive Director Leslee Hamilton shared our vision for the park as the centerpiece of a thriving San Jose. Click here to view the slides developed by landscape architect Ken Kay.
We greatly appreciate the individuals, corporations, and foundations who provide operating support for our education, advocacy, and stewardship efforts.

Mother's Day Adopt a Rose
Many thanks to all who adopted a rose for Mother's Day and joined us for our inaugural reception in the Heritage Rose Garden. We are also grateful for Donna Snodgrass' many hours in the garden tending plaques and the volunteers from South Bay Heritage Rose Group whose twice weekly sessions keep the roses looking good.
Bike to Work Day
Supervisor Ken Yeager and lots of employees from KLA-Tencor, Bloom Energy, Google, and VTA were among the 493 cyclists counted at our Energizer Station on May 11th.
Volunteer Corner
Western Digital (above left) joined us in the Heritage Rose Garden and had a lot of fun smelling the roses at peak bloom. CA Technologies (right) brought a team to help weed the Historic Orchard; they especially enjoying using pitchforks!
A hearty thanks to all the volunteer groups that toiled to make GRPG a more beautiful place this past April:

Volunteer Highlight: The Harker School
The Harker School is one of the local high schools that sends us volunteers. Spanish teacher Diana Moss is our biggest champion there. Whenever Diana sees has the opportunity to bring students out to volunteer, she’s here leading the way, with the biggest smile you'll ever see on a teacher's face. The Harker School community has donated over 130 hours of service so far this year. We appreciate The Harker School for their commitment to community service. |
