NEWSLETTER: Mid November 2012

Kick off Super Bowl Sunday with the Super Guadalupe River Run at 8 AM on Sunday, February 3rd.

Don’t fumble the opportunity to burn some calories. Whether you go long for 13.1 miles or tackle the 3.1 mile quarterback sneak, you’ll earn your game-time guacamole on the Guadalupe. Huddle with family, friends, training partners, neighbors, or co-workers to run a half marathon or 5K - cross the goal line to score guilt-free indulgence during the game. For more information or to register, click here.

Trail Update

Good news - while the Hwy 880 to Alviso paving project isn't yet complete, the section from Hwy 880 to Green Island (just before the Hwy 101 undercrossing) will re-open on Wednesday. Grab your bike or walking/running shoes and work off those extra holiday calories while exploring the new trail segment. Pictured is one of the three new interpretive plazas that will be featured on the trail.

Christmas Bird Count

Sunday, December 16, 8:00 am to noon
The Audubon Society’s Christmas Bird Count is a census of early winter bird populations. More than 50,000 volunteer observers across the Americas take part in counting birds in their particular area. The result is over a century of data on bird populations from North to South America. This data is crucial because it is used by scientists to monitor bird population changes over time. Please join us to complete the census of birds in the section of Guadalupe River Park from Coleman Ave to Hwy 880 and in Guadalupe Gardens. No experience is necessary. Click the green button to sign up.
