On Saturday, October 11, 2003 the Guadalupe River Park & Gardens hosted the 8th annual Pumpkins in the Park, an environmental harvest festival for young families designed to create awareness of the Guadalupe River and celebrate the fall season. 10,000 people attended Pumpkins in the Park to learn about the Guadalupe River, make scarecrows, decorate pumpkins, taste apples and cider, listen to great music, eat great food and partake in countless other activities. Cane Awareness Day Walk-A-Thon Treat your children, grandchildren, or some special little guests to an exciting evening of Disney on Ice! Wednesday, October 29 is opening night for Mickey & Minnie's Magical Journey at HP Pavilion. The performance begins at 7:30 PM. Thanks to a generous donation from Disney and NBC11, the Friends of Guadalupe River Park & Gardens have a number of tickets to sell for the opening night performance at a discounted price of $10.00 each. The entire proceeds from the sale of these tickets remain with the Friends and will be used for our children's education programs. These tickets will be on sale at Pumpkins in the Park, but are also available by calling Kathleen Muller at 408-277-5998. Tickets will be sold on a first come-first served basis.
