The Belted Kingfisher has a large, dark—blue head with long, wispy feathers on its forehead and a blue—colored breast band. It perches on trees above waterways and dives headfirst to catch its prey——mostly small fish and aquatic invertebrates.
Fun Fact The kingfisher can catch fish up to 2 feet beneath the water's surface with its sharp, skinny beak.
