Great Egrets look similar to Snowy Egrets, but they are larger than their snowy counterparts and have yellow, not black, beaks. With slender, curved necks and long, thin, black legs, Great Egrets stand at about 40 inches tall. They use their sharp beaks to catch fish, invertebrates, amphibians, reptiles, rodents, and small birds.
Fun Fact Great Egrets are colonial, and build their nests in trees, shrubs, and woody thickets.
