Found throughout California, the Striped Skunk is roughly the size of a large house cat, with a handsome black coat and a wide white stripe from its head to its tail. Though black and white is the most common color pattern for skunks, scientists have documented some color variation including seal brown, all white, and yellow.
Fun Fact Striped Skunks are best known for the specialized musk glands found under their tails. Strong muscles surround the glands, capable of spraying the yellow, strong—scented musk for several yards.
