Beginning Gardening: 3-Week Course

Are you new to gardening? Come to this three-week course to learn the basics so you can get out into your yard with confidence!


Learn about the wide variety of plants that will thrive here in Santa Clara County and how to grow them successfully.


Topics include: planning and preparing a garden, understanding what plants need, how to shop in a nursery for best results, and many more tips and techniques to help your garden flourish. This course includes an optional Saturday morning visit to a local community garden for hands-on experience.


The class is taught by UCCE Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County.


Thursdays, April 20th, 27th,  & May 4th

$35/members, $45/non-members


This program takes place at the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy Visitor & Education Center, 438 Coleman Ave., San Jose. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. For more information, visit or call 408-298-7657.

A credit towards another workshop will be available for cancellations within one week of the workshop. No refunds will be given; please take this into account before signing up. In the event a workshop is cancelled by GRPC a full refund will be provided to all registered participants.
