Pumpkins in the Park is a harvest fair for families with a strong environmental education component. It is designed to promote awareness of the Guadalupe River Park and celebrate the fall season. Pumpkins in the Park is held to raise funds and enlist supporters for Guadalupe River Park Conservancy. But, just as importantly, its purpose is to create awareness of the park and gardens and to bring families into the park for a day of learning and fun.

Children’s Costume Parade!

Want to test drive your Halloween costume? Check in at the Pumpkins in the Park stage at 11:10, 12:25, 1:45 (meet about 10 minutes before each time) and get ready to march across the stage and out into the event grounds to show off your duds. Afterwards, remain in costume or slip into something more comfortable and enjoy the myriad of great activities. Just one more fun thing to do at Pumpkins in the Park!

Zero Waste

We’ve decided to make this a Zero Waste Event as defined by the City of San Jose. We hope you can help us meet the requirements…here are some of the things we are doing:

Eco-Stations will be strategically located throughout the event. They will offer visitors the option to place things in the trash, in the recycling bin, or in the composting bin.

All of the food we will be serving will be compostable itself and be served on paper products that can be composted.

Many of the materials used to produce the event are reusable, such as burlap table clothes, reusable signage, etc.

We’ve gone almost entirely digital…very few paper fliers were printed this year!
