Summer Evening Rose Garden Sessions

The San Jose Heritage Rose Garden (HRG) is a unique collection of 3,600 antique and modern roses. Established in 1995 through an extensive community effort, the garden contains 2,600 varieties, more varieties than any other rose garden in the Western Hemisphere. The garden is open daily from dawn to dusk and there is no admission charge. Docent-led tours for pre-scheduled groups can be arranged.


We have Summer Evening Rose Garden Sessions on the second Tuesdays of June, July, August and September at 5:30 to 7:30pm. After work in the garden removing spent blooms, Guadalupe River Park Conservancy will be serving free ice cream following the work session!!


Please come prepared with clothes you can get dirty. Long pants, closed toe shoes A hat, sunscreen as well as a pre-filled reusable water bottle. All tools and Pre-worn work gloves will be provided or you can bring your own.


Anyone under 18 years of age must have a signed parental waiver which can be found on our volunteer page. Kids under 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
