Guadalupe Guide

Environmental Educator

 

Under the direct supervision of GRPC staff, Guadalupe guides assist with the implementation of education programs. These programs include: field trips, homeschool classes, adult education programs, and education events. Guides will set up, clean up, and teach environmental science and place-based lessons. They will assist with materials preparation for events and education programs, and perform other projects and duties as they are assigned according to the interest and abilities of the Guide.

 

We are looking for a passionate, positive, and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic and fun work environment. We need someone who is self-directed and can work independently as well as in a group. Guides must be able to teach in the variable outdoor environment.

 

$15.00/hour, with a variable schedule. Field trip season peaks in the fall and spring with limited hours available during the winter and summer. After successful completion and review of the first season Guadalupe Guides will be considered for a pay increase to $16.50/hour.

Spanish-Speaking Early Environmental Educator

Environmental Educator, Beginning Environmental Explorers Program
 
We are seeking a Spanish-speaking educator to provide support for early childhood educational programming. Beginning Environmental Explorers Educators are integral in providing high-quality, hands-on science programming to the park’s youngest visitors.
 
Under the direct supervision of GRPC staff, the Beginning Environmental Explorers Educator will assist with the implementation of education programs. This program takes place Wednesdays and Fridays 11:00 am – 12:00 noon; the educator should also be available for lesson planning and prep. Guides will set up, clean up, and teach environmental science and place-based lessons to young learners aged 2 to 6. They will assist with materials preparation for this program, and perform other projects and duties as they are assigned according to the interest and abilities of the Educator.

We need someone who is self-directed and can work independently as well as in a group. Educators must be able to teach in the variable outdoor environment. This educator will be responsible for the Spanish-language lesson and work closely with the English-language Educator to plan and teach lessons. We are committed to diversity and seek an Educator that matches the demographics of our students.

 

$15.00/hour, with a semi-variable schedule. The program takes place during the school year. After successful completion and review of the first season Guadalupe Guides will be considered for a pay increase to $16.50/hour.
